Johor Integrated Renewable Energy Development

Powering Johor’s Next Generation of Sustainable Growth

Wawasan Tenaga Antarabangsa Sdn. Bhd. is advancing a strategic renewable energy development in Johor, through a collaborative framework involving approximately 1,400 acres of land, with an initial 100-acre Phase One development.
The Johor Project represents our vision for a scalable, integrated clean-energy ecosystem that combines solar photovoltaic generation, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), intelligent energy management, grid-support capabilities and power optimisation.

Rather than developing the entire land area simultaneously, the project is envisioned as a phased development platform, allowing generation capacity and supporting infrastructure to be progressively expanded in accordance with technical feasibility, grid availability, regulatory approvals, commercial requirements and future energy demand.
1,400 Acres,  A Platform for Long-Term Renewable Energy Development

Our master-planning philosophy is centred on scalability. Infrastructure developed during the earlier phases will, wherever technically and commercially appropriate, be planned with subsequent expansion in mind.

Phase One — Initial 100-Acre Development

The first approximately 100 acres will establish the foundation of the wider Johor renewable-energy development.

Phase One is intended to demonstrate an integrated approach in which renewable generation is supported by battery storage, intelligent controls and grid-management technologies rather than operating as an isolated solar facility.

The approximately 1,400-acre land collaboration provides Wawasan Tenaga Antarabangsa with the opportunity to plan the Johor development from a long-term perspective.

The scale of the land creates the potential for a broader renewable-energy ecosystem rather than a single standalone generation facility. Subject to detailed studies and the necessary approvals, the development framework may accommodate solar generation, battery energy storage, substations, transmission and grid infrastructure, internal access and supporting facilities, as well as future energy-related developments.

The development concept brings together

Solar PV generation to produce clean electricity from Johor's solar resources

Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to store energy and provide greater flexibility in how electricity is delivered

Energy Management Systems (EMS) for real-time monitoring, intelligent control and coordinated operation of generation and storage assets

Grid-support capabilities designed to facilitate the integration of renewable generation with the electricity network

Power optimisation to improve the timing and utilisation of generated and stored electricity

Integrated electrical infrastructure designed with the potential for future phases and expansion in mind
